Eligibility begins on YOUR VERY FIRST DAY OF EMPLOYMENT.Exemption TypeExemptEducationBachelor's DegreeJob DescriptionPosition Summary This position manages and administers YRCI's benefits programs including group health, dental, vision, wellness, short-term and long-term disability, FMLA, parental leave, life insurance, flexible spending plans, health savings accounts, voluntary benefits, non-qualified deferred comp plan, and 401(k) retirement plan. This position is a part of the Human Resources (HR) team and will report to the Vice President of Human Resources. Responsibilities
  • Oversee the design of the employee benefit plans; examine possible plan design and benefit cost alternatives.
  • Coordinate daily benefit processing including enrollments, terminations, changes, etc.
  • Process Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and other leaves of absence.
  • Audit carrier invoices for payment processing.
  • Respond to employee questions and assist with benefits enrollment and problem resolution with carriers and third-party administrators.
  • Provide the technical support, test system functionality and work with end users to provide system support and troubleshoot system problems within the benefits admin system.
  • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Work effectively to make sure the plans run smoothly; investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
  • Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.
  • Assure timeliness and accuracy of required compliance filings (e.g., 401k Non-Discrimination testing, 5500s, etc.).
  • Coordinate all components of benefits audits.
  • Analyze data and compile metrics to support decision-making related to benefits programs.
  • Provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefits programs.
  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, compliance issues, and best practices related to benefits.
  • Develop and implement a wellness strategy in alignment with the company's strategic goals related to employee engagement.
  • Conduct periodic audits and analysis and prepare reports.
  • Evaluate and revise internal processes to increase efficiency.
  • Ensure our benefits programs and reporting meet our compliance obligations.
Job RequirementsBasic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of benefits administration experience including benefits compliance, processing leaves of absence, managing wellness programs, managing benefits open enrollment, 401k administration, and Non-Qualified Deferred Comp Plan administration.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including an appreciation for a collaborative organizational culture and dynamics.
  • Must be detail orientated and be highly organized.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Capability of effective planning and priority setting.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and a benefits administration system at an intermediate level.
  • Resourceful; able to locate and engage internal or external resources to ensure successful execution of programs and initiatives.
  • A strong understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, IRS and DOL requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SHRM or Benefits certification.
  • Experience with Paycor.
  • Experience working in a government contracting environment.
