Our client, a top-tier fund based in NYC, has partnered with us to find their new Fund formation Counsel/Attorney.
The role is ideal for someone who has cut their teeth in BigLaw and has substantive experience with sponsor representations across various types of funds, ideally with private credit and opportunistic credit.
Required qualifications:
- 4-9 years of experience with the structuring, formation, and offering of foreign and U.S.-based investment products. Experience with regulatory compliance, private funds, and private credit funds would be ideal. Experience with closed-end funds and open-ended funds is ideal.
- Experience with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940
- JD from a top-tier Law School
- Experience with PPM, Investment Management agreements, LPAs, GP Operating agreements, and other ancillary documents.
- Ability to keep up to date with regulatory developments in the Investment Management space.
- Experience liaising with the Investment committees, allocation committees, marketing, and Investor relations departments is a plus.
Additional good-to-have qualifications:
- Experience in all aspects of the fund life cycle and hands-on experience with launching new products for their in-house firm bespoke funds.
- Top-tier BigLaw prior experience in the Investment Management/Private funds groups.
