Associate Director, SEO

As the Associate Director, reporting to the Head of SEO, this position will be responsible for assisting the Director in leading the SEO team across multiple brands. This position will work closely with the Director of SEO to drive strategy, foster learning, provide mentorship, and be a leader in innovation and thought leadership. As such, this position will work closely with channel leads to ensure optimal value is being delivered to our client. In addition, the Associate Director is responsible for working with a variety of client and agency leaders and oversee a team of associates. This is a highly visible and influential role that has major impact on the business.

This role is perfect for someone with comprehensive knowledge of all components of SEO (from technical, content, digital PR, and CRO), who Is passionate about delivering a unified Organic Search Strategy for our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the SEO team to maximize team member productivity, job satisfaction and professional growth
  • Oversee SEO projects to ensure the team is meeting expectations while continuing to elevate strategic thinking at all levels and own the scoping/staffing process for assigned SEO clients.
  • Develop & execute client SEO strategy to increase profit, and provide great customer service
  • Foster a culture of continual learning, ensuring team members and agency colleagues are at the leading edge of organic search practices and theory crafting
  • Identify Technical SEO practices that can be rolled out at scale/decrease development and maintenance costs, to enable continuous organic growth
  • Provide updates on SEO performance to the client team, including proactively flagging any potential issues impacting search effectiveness.
  • Proactivity in terms of educating clients and other team members about various SEO topics, be it in presentations, POVs or other opinionated pieces.
  • Assist clients in building and understanding business goals in relation to Content/SEO strategies and programs; act as the escalation point on client concerns as necessary
  • Work with cross functional Paid Search and Paid Social teams for integrated digital strategies and testing opportunities
  • Play an active role in defining SEO best practices and scalable processes
  • Share knowledge and insights with clients while keeping up to date with the latest industry trends, market tools, technologies, and opportunities.
  • Defining innovative and data-driven SEO roadmaps for the client s digital team
  • Client Leadership, including leading client meetings both face-to-face and conference calls
  • Setting up reporting frameworks to monitor performance and drive digital efficiencies
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders affiliated with the client

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of tactical and strategic experience in SEO (search engine optimization) in agency environments
  • 2 - 3 years of demonstrating success in managing and leading a team
  • A generalist with solid experience across all three areas of SEO (Technical, Content, and Digital PR)
  • Proficiency in the following: Technical SEO, Mobile Optimization, Analytics, Content Optimization Management and Development, Project Management, CRO
  • Have a passion for understanding search intent, making the web a better place, and making sure the client's relevant content is found by those who are looking for it
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills; be comfortable using data and findings to tell a story
  • Enjoy problem solving, thrive on seizing new opportunities and adapting new technologies and processes
  • Have a strong knowledge of leading Web Analytics and SEO tools
  • You are highly skilled, a self-starter, confident in your abilities; not afraid to share opinions or new perspectives in the pursuit of excellence and above all else are dependable, reliable, and bright
  • Strategic thinker, intrinsically curious with a positive attitude in all that you do
  • Extensive experience managing senior stakeholders with a professional demeanor, you are collaborative to the core and remain calm under pressure
  • Outstanding project management and organization skills driving cross-functional teams; abroad and locally
  • Solution-oriented with an impeccable eye for detail, you are comfortable with ambiguity and can grasp new concepts
  • Genuine passion for mentoring people and playing an active role in their development
  • Effective communicator while evoking camaraderie between all team members

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living). The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
