Job Description:

Overview: Join a dynamic group of individuals and help make a difference in the lives of children and families. The Associate Director of Operations and Team Management plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of our small non-profit organization. This role involves overseeing various aspects of day-to-day operations, optimizing processes, managing resources, and supporting the organization s mission and goals. In addition, the Associate Director is responsible for providing direction and guidance to ensure the team's success while fostering collaboration, accountability, and a positive work environment.

Background: The Mount Sinai Parenting Center s mission is to transform the way pediatric healthcare is delivered by maximizing opportunities to promote strong parent-child relationships and early childhood development within everyday healthcare interactions. We create trainings, curricula, videos and resources for providers to use in healthcare moments with the goal of providing parents with the tools they need to foster optimal social, emotional and cognitive development in their children 0-5 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic plans.
  • Provide input and data to inform organizational decisions and long-term goals.

Operational Oversight:

  • Allocate resources and staff time to effectively meet project and program needs.

Financial Management:

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Fundraising and Grant Management:

  • Assist in grant management, reporting, and compliance.
  • Support the development and execution of fundraising and donor engagement activities.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and onboard team members, ensuring they understand the organization's mission and values.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and feedback to team members.
  • Set clear performance expectations and individual goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages open communication and idea sharing.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Performance Evaluation:

  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
  • Develop and implement professional development plans for team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nonprofit management, business administration, or operations management).
  • Previous experience in nonprofit operations, preferably in a management or supervisory role.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Experience with fundraising, grant writing, and donor management
