Simpson Judge are working with a well-established National Insurance Defense Firm with over 30 offices located around the US. The firm are rapidly growing their departments due to vast influx in work demands, and are on the lookout for a General Liability Associate Attorney to join their team in Manhattan.

This is a great opportunity for a General Liability Associate looking to further their career within insurance defense with a reputable firm that offers genuine support, opportunities to progress and the flexibility to enjoy a work life balance. Within the role you can expect to involve yourself on high quality matters, representing a range of varied Clients within a team of supportive and dedicated professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a varied complexity caseload of general liability matters from inception to resolution
• Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, briefs and motions
• Represent Clients in Court
• Conduct and defending depositions, arbitrations
• Negotiate settlements
• Prepare bundles for trial with frequent trial attendance
• Conduct legal research
• Achieve and maintain annual billable hours of 1950 hrs

Qualifications:

• Admitted to practice in New York, and ideally New Jersey
• 3 + Yrs experience in General Liability Defense
• Strong ability to self-manage a high volume caseload
• Strong communication and inter-personal skills
• Detail orientated, with strong analytical skills
• Strong organisation with the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment
• Excellent time management with the ability to meet key deadlines
