- Gather all relevant shipping documents and ensure entire document package is intact
- Affix the correct label
- Enter parcel shipments in UPS/FedEx computer systems
- If needed, fill out appropriate Hazardous Materials paperwork
- Contact LTL carrier/freight forwarders for pickup of truck shipments
- Load shipments into carrier vehicles
- Ensure GMP, safety and security requirements are met when loading shipments onto carrier vehicles
- Ensure paperwork is documented with appropriate data before vehicle leaves
- Maintain the shipping area in a clean condition in compliance with GMP requirements
- Double check all products, labels and documents to ensure correct items are shipped
- Work within proper GMP, HACCP, Allergen, SSOP, Kosher and Safety guidelines
- Any other tasks as directed
- Attention to detail-specifically item numbers, lot numbers, container weights and units of measure
- Ability to read and comprehend (in English) shipping/safety labels, shipping instruction SDS's, digital scale readouts, shipping papers including various types of Hazardous Goods declarations, correspondence, code numbers and regulations
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
- Ability to convert pounds to Kilos and vice versa
- Ability to work with computers
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions
- Hazardous Materials certification
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Periods of standing, walking, reaching and bending are required
- Ability to deal with strong odors
- Working knowledge of SQF, ISO 9001:2015, EFfCI, and HACCP
Salary Range: $18-$22 per hour
