Job Description:

The Office of Development at The New York Public Library raises funds from private sources to support the mission and vision of the Library. The team comprises a dynamic group of professionals who together represent expertise in all areas of fundraising, including individual giving, corporate relations, foundation and government grants, special events, membership, planned giving, and systems management.

The Library seeks a well-organized, focused, and proactive fundraising professional with a passion for the Librarys mission to join its Corporate Relations team. The candidate will assist with the management of key corporate marketing and philanthropic relationships, help raise corporate funds, and manage the engagement of corporate partner employee volunteer opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with leaders in diverse sectors to raise funds for the Librarys education, preservation, and digital initiatives, as well as NYPLs Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and the Library for the Performing Arts.? The Assistant Manager must be a ready collaborator with staff throughout the NYPL system and serve in a variety of information-gathering capacities, including program and budget components.

Location 39th Street Building Compensation $53,000 - $55,000 / year Department Development Employment Type Full Time Reporting To Rebecca Carew ** Key Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Relations and Strategic Partnerships, the Assistant Manager of Corporate Relations will:

* Assist with the development of sponsorship proposals; manage outreach and reporting schedule; conduct donor follow up; and steward corporate partners

* Draft acknowledgement letters and other correspondence to corporate annual fund and sponsorship donors

* Identify corporate volunteer opportunities and manage engagement of employee volunteers from partner companies

* Conduct prospect research and prepare company profiles for meeting briefings

* Coordinate and review donor lists and mailings

* Process gifts and maintain donor records in fundraising database

* Perform administrative tasks and assume special projects as needed

* Perform related duties as required

* Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as necessary

** Skills Knowledge and Expertise**

**Required Education & Experience**

* Bachelors degree

* 2-3 years of related work experienc

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including ability to work tactfully and effectively with all levels of Library staff and donors

* Excellent organizational skills and time management skills including ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously

* Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and a working knowledge of social media

* Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, flexibility and reliability

* Successfully demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment

* Persistent, proactive, and persuasive

* Thorough and detail-oriented

* Fundraising experience preferred

* Experience with Raisers Edge preferred, or similar database
