This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Silo Ridge Field Club, set in Amenia, New York.Silo Ridge is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to join the Golf Operations Department. The Assistant Golf Professional will assist the Head Golf Professional and other golf operations staff in all golf related activities and ensuring members and guests receive outstanding customer service with a goal of exceeding expectations. This position is instrumental in organizing and implementing golf events, tournaments, clinics, and other golf programs designed to be the best in the industry. In this role, you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct oneself professionally and provide a first-class service to Members and Guests.
- Oversee the daily operations of the player services team as shift manager.
- Be attentive to the Members & Guests needs; have recognition with them and their habits.
- Must effectively communicate all pertinent information amongst their team Members and supervisory staff regarding daily operations.
- Provide instruction in a private and group atmosphere.
- Assist with golfer check-in; control and manage play.
- Ensure accuracy of daily opening and closing procedures.
- Assist in tournament operations and weekly events including planning, promoting, communicating, course setup, assisting with billing.
- Assist in managing golf car operation, practice facility, and club storage service.
- Provide club repair services as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment for the rest of the team.
Qualifications- Holds a Class A Certification through the PGA or LPGA of America or an aspiring PGA Associate working towards Class A Membership. Also must be in good standings with the PGA.
- Knowledge of Golf Genius Tournament Software and Jonas POS systems.
- Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and assignments.
- Must be highly service-focused with a desire to engage with Members and their Guests.
- Demonstrated initiative - ability to think, work, and make decisions to solve Member concerns based on sound judgment.
- Be able to achieve high work standards: attention to detail, accuracy, ability to listen, and timeliness.
Additional Requirements- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
Benefits- Compensation: $23.00 to $25.00 per hour (tipping not allowed).
