Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
- Support the VP of Finance in developing and maintaining financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analysis to assess the fund's performance and make strategic decisions.
- Monitor cash flows, manage banking relationships, and oversee cash disbursements and receipts to ensure adequate liquidity and optimize investment returns.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, liaise with auditors, and ensure compliance with regulatory filings, tax requirements, and investor reporting obligations.
- Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and implement best practices to optimize efficiency and scalability as the fund grows.
- Assist the finance team and senior management with special projects, financial analysis, and other tasks as assigned to support the strategic objectives of the venture capital fund.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress towards CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, corporate finance, or venture capital/private equity accounting.
- Prior experience in public accounting strongly preferred
