Nuttall designs and manufactures a variety of gearing solutions including vertical and horizontal drives, speed reducers and speed increasers, cast iron and fabricated steel housings and flange mounted and scoop mounted gearmotors. Nuttall can provide entire drive packages including reducer, motor mounted on a bedplate with couplings, coupling guards, backstops, chain and/or belt drives, clutches, shoe or disc brakes and auxiliary lubrication consoles.

Custom, heavy-duty Nuttall drives are utilized in a range of key markets including metals, pulp & paper, mining, textile, oil & gas on applications such as extruders, crushers, elevators, water screens, briquetting machines, de-barkers, conveyors, drawworks, recoilers/uncoilers and dredges.

**Job Description**

Nuttall Gear LLC, a Division of Altra Industrial Motion is seeking an Assembler for our location in Niagara Falls, NY.

**SUMMARY:**

The Assembler will assemble Nuttall or Delroyd gear boxes. Assemble parts to form complete units or subassemblies at a workstation, multiple workstations or other assigned location. Utilizes hand tools, small power tools and other specialized equipment to perform assigned job. Reassembles or reworks units as required. Does basic preventative maintenance on assembly equipment. Required to move materials using overhead crane and tow-motor.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

Duties/responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* High level of initiative required by individual.

* Must be able to follow instructions from leader and work in a team atmosphere.

* Focus on our customers in everything you do.

* Understand and follow the company Quality Policy.

* Maintain a neat and clean work area.

* Understand and follow the shop practices and related procedures set for your position.

* Parts washing and wash tank start-up procedures

* Drive a Forklift to move parts through the manufacturing process

* Manual assembly

* Maintain Production Records

* Adhere to all safety rules and report questionable conditions to department supervisor

* Apply and recommend Lean practices

**Job Requirements**

**QUALIFICATIOS and COMPETENCIES:**

*Nuttall Gear, LLC is required to comply with ITAR (International Trade in Arms Regulations). Therefore, successful candidates for this position must have an unrestricted right to work in the U.S. and not require visa sponsorship either now or in the future.*

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the following:

* Team oriented focus

* Proficiency in the proper use of common tools and measuring devices including but not limited to test fixtures, calipers, gages, etc.,

* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

* Ability to build complex assemblies.

* Ability and willingness to train others.

* Supportive attitude for procedures, policies and initiatives in support of lean manufacturing, quality and safety.

**EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS:**

A High School diploma or GED equivalency is required from an accredited institution

3 months or greater of assembly experience preferred.

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, beyond 50 pounds with assist only.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT:**

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an industrial environment including moving mechanical parts. Personal protective safety equipment must be worn and proper safety precautions must be observed. Potential exposure may include, but is not limited to: oils, solvents, dusts, noise, heat, cold.
