Description

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work -During all swimming activities at Kids Summer Camp July 1st through approximately August 1st.

Qualifications - Must be 21 years of age and have at least 3 seasons of proven waterfront experience as a Lifeguard and/or Aquatics Director.

Relevant Certifications - Required:

+ Current certification as Water Safety Instructor

+ Current certification in American Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving

+ Current certification in American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer

Work Authorization/Security Clearance -Authorized to work in the United States and pass all background clearances.

Summary/Objective - The Aquatics Director shall be responsible for all aspects of the waterfront beach area, and shall supervise all staff and campers participating in these activities. The Progressive Swimming Instructor must assess the swimming ability of each camper prior to allowing the child to participate in aquatic activities

Essential Functions - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

+ Oversee the implantation of the written safety plans swimming procedures.

+ Establish and oversee all swimming activities at the camp, including off site swimming.

+ Supervise all staff and campers participating in swimming activities.

+ Respond to water front emergencies.

+ If certified as a life guard, may serve as a lifeguard.

+ IF qualified as a Progressive Swimming Instructor, may assess campers swimming ability.

+ Ensure compliance with DOH regulations as applies to Childrens Camp and Adult Temporary Residence.

+ Ensure all swimming and boating rules are followed.

+ Assist lifeguard in waterfront supervision.

+ Keep a daily log of who enters and exits the beach area.

+ Ensure that Buddy Checks are completed every fifteen minutes.

+ Accomplish camper swim assessments prior to swimming activity for all swimmers.

+ Ensure that beach is hazard free.

+ Ensure that watermark depth markers on dock are current.

+ Be on duty during all waterfront activities.

+ Other duties as needed for the program
