MILITARY VETERANS

The Apprentice Installer works to ensure that window and door installations are completed per Pella Manufacturing Installation Instructions. Continually strive for 100% Very Satisfied customers.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Install or replace windows (or doors) in residential buildings;
  • Prepare worksites by removing debris and other material to make for a safe space;
  • Ensure that installed windows and doors are completed per Pella Manufacturing Installation Instructions and pose no hazard to people or property;
  • Prep and repair exterior siding or existing window trim features;
  • Communicate effectively with customers and serves as a reputable Pella representative on all jobsites;
  • Performs any other necessary task assigned by the supervisor or company in support of company goals or assistance with customer issues;
  • Maintains assigned vehicle;
  • Uses, maintains, and stores company provided tools appropriately;
  • Meets company safety requirements by keeping work area neat and clean, following safety precautions and wearing required safety apparel (i.e., shoes, safety glasses, fall protection, etc.), and reporting any safety issues to the manager;
  • Must have a valid New York State driver s license and be in compliance with the company Fleet Safety Policy.

Skills/Knowledge Needed:

  • Must have High School Diploma or GED. Preferably 6-12 months of window and door installation experience or other construction experience (remodeling and/or window and door replacement experience is a plus) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience with power tools is required (i.e., table saw, circular or miter saw, pneumatic nail gun, power drill etc.).
  • Prior knowledge of general construction applications and terminology and/or window and door applications or components is preferred.
  • Must have knowledge and experience to take and record accurate measurements.
  • Cooperative, easy-going personality when dealing with customers.
  • Ready to learn.
  • Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Completes work in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
  • Committed to following established processes.
  • Focused on details and follow-through.
  • Adaptability to daily changing situations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and smart devices, and ability to learn internal software programs and applications.
