We are seeking an experienced SVP Legal for our client, a leading aircraft lessor. This role will oversee legal operations across the Americas, managing a team of attorneys, paralegals, and transaction managers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of attorneys and paralegals/transaction managers in the Americas region.
- Serve as a liaison among marketing, capital markets, pricing, and technical teams throughout the transaction process.
- Manage and coordinate with external transaction counsel and local counsel.
- Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents, including leases, financing documents, and sale agreements.
- Oversee and manage legal aspects of unsecured and secured financings, bond transactions, revolving credit, and other credit facilities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various other documents, including offer letters, notices, amendments, consents, confidentiality agreements, and agreements with brokers, agents, and consultants.
- Oversee collection/enforcement efforts, including managing litigation counsel as needed.
- Ensure compliance with reporting obligations and other covenants under financing documents, and with laws including export controls and FCPA.
- Oversee tracking of confidentiality agreements and agreements with brokers, agents, and consultants.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent and qualified to practice in NY.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the aviation leasing industry.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience in managing personnel and outside counsel.
- Commercially astute with a customer (airline) focus.
- Capable of working under pressure, independently, and meeting tight deadlines.
