Well-know Logistics company based on the Nassau/Suffolk border is seeking an Air Export Operations Specialist to join their team.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years working in international air freight and is looking to continue to grow.
The position is paying up to $75K and the company would like to hire asap.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end international air export process.
- Demonstrate expertise in generating air waybills, house air waybills, and consolidations.
- Provide competitive rate quotations and service options.
- Negotiate pricing with various vendors, including domestic and foreign agents, truckers, and carriers, to secure optimal pricing, routing, and service for our clientele.
- Cultivate and nurture productive relationships with clients to identify new business prospects.
- Collaborate with clients and operations teams to establish standardized operating procedures, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
- Act as a liaison between customers, agents, carriers, truckers, and operations departments to ensure timely document submission and retrieval.
- Exhibit effective communication skills, actively listening, understanding, and resolving concerns and issues raised by business clients and colleagues.
- Facilitate communication among vendors, suppliers, forwarders, and agents to obtain current shipment information.
- Furnish timely and accurate updates to keep clients informed about the status of their shipments.
- Provide relevant information to transport companies to meet customer demands.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with client and company instructions.
- Provide backup support for fellow team members when necessary.
- Perform any additional duties as directed by management to ensure departmental efficiency.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of U.S. export laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with the operations team to enhance processes and drive business performance improvements.
- Embrace role changes that contribute to the department's and business's growth.
- Strive to achieve personal objectives outlined during appraisals or on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and market share through proactive and regular communication.
- Undertake other responsibilities and duties as they emerge or become essential for the position.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in international air freight operations.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications such as Outlook, Windows, spreadsheets, Excel, and Word.
- Familiarity with domestic trucking related to customer pickups and airport deliveries, EEI filing, U.S. export regulations, and customer service experience.
- A college degree is preferred, but equivalent working experience will be considered.
- Strong communication skills, both over the phone and via email.
