Air Export Operations position open with a very well-established and stable freight forwarder located in Great Neck, NY!The successful candidate will have experience handling export operations (specifically air) from A-Z within the freight forwarding industry.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Processing air export transactionsHandle bookings from overseas agents and importersCoordinate the move to destinationUpdate shipment status, issue arrival notices, and obtain entry documentsArrange freight release with steamship lines and confirm cargo availabilityFollow up with customers by proactively informing them of status of their shipments, answering questions and referring clients to the supervisor when questions are more technicalNegotiates with customers to resolve problems and troubleshoot in order to arrive at mutual agreementsMonitor and provide necessary instruction for parties engaged in receiving and shipping freight, documentation, waybill, assessing charges, and collecting fees for shipmentsResolves customer problems and informs supervisor of the resolutionsOther functions as neededExperience and Skills:Strong air knowledgeAbility to work independently and as a team playerBasic skills in MS Office applicationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDirect hire positionSalary range: $55-75K/yr based on experience plus benefits packageCompensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 Per Year
