Easterseals has been an American Institution since 1919.The After School Coordinator will develop, direct, and supervise daily activity programs for children. Help create a warm, caring, and safe environment to support children in ways that improve the overall quality of care and educationEssential Job Functions:
  • Supervise adult staff and children utilizing appropriate Agency guidelines.
  • Ensure After School program meets the Office and Children Family Services New York State School-Age regulations.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationship with Administration of the School District and licensor.
  • Maintain daily attendance records for all enrolled children.
  • Create thematic units for instructor lesson plan utilization.
  • Implement in-service training agendas.
  • Daily travel from main campus in Valhalla, NY, to satellite program in Mt. Pleasant, NY, and occasionally carpool staff to satellite program.
  • Keep accurate student files and emergency contact information.
  • Maintain appropriate activity supplies, snack orders, and recreational equipment.
  • Provide accurate Incident Report records.
  • Lead required staff meetings.
  • Utilize fundraising efforts to support program activities.
  • Ensure safety of premises after hours by following site security procedures.
  • Develop and implement weekly rotational schedules for student activities
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field AND Two years direct experience working with children less than13 years of age, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a child care program or related field of work.
OR
  • New York State Children's Program Administrator credential AND Two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program or related field of work.
OR
  • School Age Child Care Credential or other Office recognized credential specific to the school-age developmental period. AND Two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program or related field of work.
OR
  • Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field AND Two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years including at least one year in a supervisory capacity in a childcare program or related field of work.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
