Affordable Housing Leasing Compliance Specialist - Bilingual (Spanish)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Tax Credit Compliance Specialist to add to our team.

Responsibilities

1. Interacting with applicants and various city and state agencies

2. Compliance review of tenant files and scans

3. Compliance review for HDC/HPD approval & lease signings

4. Conducting annual recertification compliance review, close-out memos

5. Generating Initial and Annual Owner Certifications for HOME & LIHTC monitors, including processing monitoring fees

6. Communicating monthly with funders and syndicators, including submission of monthly and quarterly rent rolls

7. Answering high volumes of phone calls, scanning, emailing & filing/maintaining files; and following up on each

8. Performing other related duties as assigned

Required Skills: **deal breakers**

1. Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required

2. Must Have Leasing-Compliance Experience

3. Bachelor s Degree or Equivalent Experience

4. Familiarity with Affordable housing programs like NYCHA, HPD, etc..

5. Experience and/or commitment to working with low income populations

6. Working knowledge of Low Income Housing Tax Credits and Section 8

7. Excellent computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office ( Word, Excel, Access and Outlook)

Preferred Skills:

1. Experience with Yardi software

2. Flexibility, creativity and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team

3. Detail oriented and organized

4. Superior writing and analytical skills

5. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
