Job Description:

Our association management organization seeks a talented sales representative to serve as the liaison between clients and our creative team. The main goal of this role is to market and sell advertising space in various print magazines and digital products, manage long-term customer accounts to ensure customer satisfaction, and gain new customers.

The ideal candidate will be a people-person with strong sales skills. They will have experience building sales, have an excellent customer service approach, and bring solid accounts-receivable skills to the role.

The successful applicant will be a team player thats ready to give and receive feedback. You should be a stickler for meeting deadlines and great at multi-tasking, as we balance multiple projects at once.

Essential Functions of the Position

  • Market and sell advertising space in multiple print magazines and digital products.
  • Foster and strengthen relationships with clients and prospects. Ensure clients have a positive experience and their needs are met.
  • Develop and present proposals to clients.
  • Coordinate the placement of ads with the Editor-in-Chief and layout artist. Work with in-house graphic design and print teams to keep jobs moving, on time, and on budget.
  • Maintain financial records for client jobs, including accounts-receivable. Initiate billings, renewal letters, and follow up. Collect overdue accounts where needed.
  • Identify new clients, new products, and potential business opportunities; upsell and cross-sell products and services.
  • Work closely with the Communications Director and the marketing team to develop a marketing plan to help achieve sales goals.
  • Occasionally travel to trade shows or other venues meet with clients.

Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in sales or account management
  • 1-2 years proven experience in advertising sales
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Sound knowledge of marketing principles and techniques
  • Strong finance and/or accounts receivable skills
  • Effective communication skills; strong negotiation and consultative sales skills
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and colleagues in a professional manner
  • Familiar with MS Office, Adobe products
  • Ability to travel occasionally (
