The clinician will complete a psychosocial intake assessment for clients entering various programs in our department. The position involves working closely with the front office support staff, the medical team as well as the clinicians. The provides comprehensive assessment services to clients who have substance abuse barriers to employment by applying clinical judgment to determine appropriate treatment needs and levels of care. This includes performing diagnostic assessment, evaluation, intervention, referral and alcoholism and/or substance abuse counseling in both individual and group settings.The salary range is $38-43K . This is an 1199 union position with union benefits. Work shift is 7x3 Monday to FridayKEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Complete phone screensCoordinate and schedule intakesComplete a psychosocial intake assessment for clients entering various programs in our departmentComplete LOCADTRProvide therapy group schedulesUtilize Electronic Health Record to complete required documentationExplain program rules and policies as they apply to the clientAssist client in completing necessary paperwork, including signing releases of information and other consents for treatmentOrients clients about program goals, objectives, rules and regulations, client's obligations, client's rights and program operationResponsible for accurate and timely clinical documentation for servicesConduct substance abuse and mental health evaluations regularly, utilizing standardized assessment tools and motivational interviewing techniques.Pursue ongoing professional development relevant to the job position.Participate in clinical supervision regularly as well as the interdisciplinary team meetings.Demonstrates knowledge of group work management techniques and uses those techniques appropriatelyDemonstrates appropriate treatment planning and clinical interventionDemonstrates knowledge of appropriate documentationProvides education and information to the client about alcohol and drug abuseMaintains and updates referral services and resources that may be useful to our client/resident population; makes referral when necessary and appropriateREQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma required. Associate/Bachelor Degree preferred3+ years' experience in OASAS programStrong leadership, excellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work on a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environmentAbility to multitask and to work and function under pressureKEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Conduct substance use and mental health assessments, utilizing standardized assessment tools and best practice techniques i.e. MI, EBP etc.Complete phone screenings and determine client's suitability to complete a clinical assessment.Coordinate intakes and medical appointments as necessary.Knowledge of all applicable screening tools; i.e. PHQ 2&9, DAST, MAST, Modified Mini Screen, etc.Works with Finance Department to ensure billing for APG services.Work with Entitlement Department to ensure financial clearance.Process client ID Card/Photo.Complete a Comprehensive Psycho-Social Assessment for clients entering the Program.Knowledge of the current LOCADTR 3.0Knowledge of Lighthouse to check for dual enrollment prior to admission,Completes timely reporting admissions and discharges on OASAS Client Data System PAS 44's and PAS 45'sWorking knowledge of Electronic Health Record; i.e. Nextgen and Avatar.Explain treatment service agreement include; program rules and regulations (orientation), policies and practices and obtains clients signaturesConduct monthly orientation groups that include all new admissions.Monitors and reconciles Census between Lighthouse/Central Registry and OASAS CDS.Pursue ongoing professional development relevant to the job position.Participate in clinical supervision regularly and interdisciplinary team meetings.Demonstrates understanding of appropriate use of treatment planning and clinical intervention.Provides education and information to the client about alcohol and drug use disorder.Maintains and updates referral services and resources that may be useful to our client population.Conducts random toxicology testing for clients whenever necessary.Other related duties as required or directed by the Supervisor.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:High School Diploma or GED.Associate Degree preferred.Minimum of three (3) years working in a Mental Health setting.Valid unrestricted NYS OASAS certification as a CASAC Substance Abuse Counselor required.Must obtain Mandated reporter (2 hours) training/certificateprior to hire date.Website info: obtain training/certification withinthirty (30) days of hire.Domestic ViolenceInfection Control BASIC(non-medical/nursing staff)HIVChild AbuseTobacco CessationImpaired Driver Screening and AssessmentMust obtain training/certificationduring in-house orientation.Supporting Recovery with Medications Addictions Treatment (MAT)Must obtainSUDtraining/certificate withinthirty (30) days of hire (if applicable)Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to TreatmentCASAC Canon of Ethics (6 hours)Confidentiality related to 42CFR (3 Hours)Excellent organizational, communication and time management skillsAbility to work on a strong team of professionals in a culturally diverse environment.Ability to multitask and to work and function under pressure.Acacia Network is an equal opportunity employerJob Requirements
