Accounting Supervisor - ConstructionAbout the Company and Opportunity- Accounting Supervisor:
  • CFS NY is working with one of the most well-established companies in NYC
  • Our client is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support accounting needs during a period of rapid growth in their Long Island City Office, Daily
  • This person will be responsible for owning key accounting activities and processes across the business and will play an integral and visible role in keeping the business on track
  • As the company scales, there will be significant opportunities for this individual to assume more responsibility and advance their career within a high growth environment
Role Responsibilities- Accounting Supervisor:
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly internal consolidated and consolidating financial statements including Work in Process (WIP) Schedules
  • Manage month-end closing schedule and oversee preparation of all account reconciliations, preparation and review of journal entries in the GL
  • Prepare variance analyses for specific accounts to assist the FP&A and leadership teams in identifying key insights
  • Lead various accounting transaction cycles, while focusing on improving the established processes
  • Assist with annual external audits by preparing schedules, documenting, and explaining procedures
  • Lead or assist on ad-hoc projects as needed (e.g. tax compliance, system implementations).

Preferred Qualifications- Accounting Supervisor:

  • 6+ years of construction (cost to cost) accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Solid communication skills and ability to manage a team
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting or CPA highly preferred
  • Advanced Excel capabilities/knowledge
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
