An actively managed real estate investment trust in New York City is currently seeking a new Accounting Manager. Responsibilities: The Accounting Manager will:
- Manage loan, debt and JV partner accounting for a private open-ended REIT
- Manage accounts payable, cash positions, partner distributions
- Prepare and maintain accounting ledgers, loan tape, and bank reconciliations
- Assist with investor reporting and distribution models
- Monitor, document, and track vendor deal invoices, closings, payoffs
- Work closely with fund admin in preparing financial reporting packages- monthly & quarterly
- Analyze and assemble warehouse compliance reporting to counterparties
- Assist with annual external audit
- Work directly with Controller and Chief Financial Officer
Qualifications:
- 3-7 years of experience in an accounting/finance/operations role
- Strong GAAP and financial reporting skills
- Accounting skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills with banking institutions, vendors, and internal staff
- Ability to prioritize tasks with strong time management skills
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently
- Experience with Microsoft, Word, Excel, QuickBooks & executing wires
Desired Skills:
- Commercial Mortgage REIT experience
- CPA
