That makes the storage and distribution of ammunition - all ammunition - an undertaking of paramount importance. As the Ammunition Specialist, youll ensure this vital job is done correctly through precise handling, storage, and documentation of ordnance. The primary responsibility of an Army National Guard Ammunition Specialist is to ensure the proper receipt, storage, documentation, and issuance of conventional ammunition, guided missiles, large rockets, and related items. These duties may include the inspection, modification, and demilitarization of various munitions. Job training for an Ammunition Specialist consists of 10 weeks of Basic Training, where you'll learn basic Soldiering skills, as well as seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
